Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Compete. Track. Win. ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information. This policy applies to all users of the App within the United States.

By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information: Email address, display name, profile photo, and profile data you provide during registration and account setup. This includes your unique @username, which is publicly visible and used by other users to find and connect with you.

Social & Teammate Data: Your teammate connections (a list of user IDs you are connected with), teammate requests you send and receive, and your team membership (team name and team icon image, if applicable). When you interact with other users' activity (such as giving a "fist bump"), that interaction is recorded.

Health & Fitness Data: Data synced from Apple HealthKit, including activity type, duration, distance, calories, heart rate data, elevation gain, GPS route data, and daily step counts (used for Daily Steps challenges); and, to compute your readiness and training-load scores, heart-rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep analysis, respiratory rate, body temperature, blood oxygen (SpO2), and your date of birth (used to estimate maximum heart rate). This data is only accessed with your explicit permission through Apple's HealthKit authorization prompts, and only the types you allow are read.

Activity Feed Data: When you complete workouts, a summary of your activity (including activity type, duration, distance, calories, heart rate, timestamps, your display name, profile photo, username, and team badge) is posted to the Activity Feed and visible to your connected teammates. You may add a caption and a photo to a post, and you and your teammates may add comments and "fist bumps." Captions, photos, and comments you submit ("User Content") are stored in our database and visible to the teammates who can see the post.

Account Information: Your display name, @username, optional profile photo, and the email associated with your Sign in with Apple or Google account. With Sign in with Apple this email may be an Apple private-relay address that forwards to you without revealing your real address.

Payment Information: Compete. Track. Win. does not collect or store any payment card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive financial information. Compete. Track. Win. Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple; we do not receive your payment details.

Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility purposes.

Usage & Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used — events such as app opens, screens viewed, and key interactions (for example, sending a Call Out or starting a challenge). This helps us improve the App and is linked to your account identifier.

Diagnostics & Crash Data: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and performance data (such as crash logs and device state at the time of a crash) so we can fix stability issues. This is used for diagnostics only and is not used to track you.

AI Coaching: The App generates AI coaching — a short "Coach's Read" after a workout and an ongoing coaching summary (your current focus plus weekly and seasonal recaps). To do this, a de-identified summary of your activity (such as activity type, duration, distance, average heart rate, effort points, recent training trends, and — if you choose to set one — the fitness goal you wrote in your profile) is sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the message. This summary contains no name, account ID, contact information, or precise location, is used only to generate your coaching message, and is not used by that provider to train its models.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

To provide, maintain, and improve the App, including challenge management, scoring, and leaderboards.

To calculate fitness points and scores based on your workout data.

To display your name, profile photo, username, rankings, and performance to other challenge participants within challenges you have joined.

To power social features, including: displaying your workout activity in the Activity Feed visible to your connected teammates; enabling teammate discovery through @username search; processing teammate connection requests; and displaying your team badge on feed posts.

To send notifications about challenge updates, results, teammate requests, and account-related communications.

To detect, prevent, and address cheating, fraud, technical issues, and security concerns.

To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. HealthKit Data

The App accesses Apple HealthKit data to track and score your workouts, display your activity, and compute your readiness and training-load scores. We read workout data including type, duration, distance, calories, heart rate, elevation gain, and GPS route data (for map display within workout details). To compute readiness and training load, we also read heart-rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep analysis, respiratory rate, body temperature, blood oxygen (SpO2), and your date of birth (to estimate maximum heart rate). We read only the data types you authorize.

In accordance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines:

HealthKit data is never sold to any third party.

HealthKit data is never shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

HealthKit data is never used for purposes other than providing health and fitness services within the App, specifically challenge scoring, effort points, leaderboard calculations, readiness and training-load scores, workout activity display, and Activity Feed posts shared with your connected teammates. The recovery signals (HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, respiratory rate, body temperature, SpO2, and date of birth) are used only to compute your personal readiness and training-load scores; they are never sold, never used for advertising, and never shared with other users.

HealthKit data is not stored in iCloud or any unsecured storage.

Workout summaries derived from HealthKit data (activity type, duration, distance, calories, heart rate averages) are posted to the Activity Feed and visible to your connected teammates. Raw HealthKit data (such as individual heart rate samples and GPS coordinates) is processed on-device and is not shared with other users.

You can revoke HealthKit access at any time through your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

With Other Participants: Your display name, profile photo, ranking, points, and challenge performance are visible to other participants in challenges you join. Your email address is not shared with other participants.

With Teammates: When you connect with another user as a teammate, your workout activity (activity type, duration, distance, calories, heart rate, timestamps, and team badge) is shared with that teammate through the Activity Feed. Your @username and display name are visible to any user who searches for teammates. Your profile photo is visible alongside your Activity Feed posts.

With All Users: Your @username is publicly searchable within the App. Your team name and team icon (if set) are visible to other users who view the Activity Feed or your profile within challenges.

With Apple: Compete. Track. Win. Pro subscription purchases are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive your payment card or financial details.

With Firebase/Google: Account and app data is stored using Firebase by Google, subject to Google's data processing terms. Team icon images and profile photos are stored using Firebase Storage.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

Business Transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or transfer of the App's operations to a successor entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

6. Data Security

We use Firebase by Google for data storage and authentication, which provides industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services.

Workout and challenge data is retained for historical purposes and to maintain leaderboard accuracy.

Activity Feed data (workout posts and fist bump interactions) is retained as long as your account is active. When you remove a teammate connection, they will no longer see your future Activity Feed posts, but previously posted activity may remain in the feed database.

Team data (team name, team icon) is retained as long as the team exists. When you leave a team, your association with that team is removed from your profile.

Username reservation data is retained as long as you hold the username. If you change your username, your previous username is released and may be claimed by another user.

Payment records are retained as required by applicable financial regulations and tax laws.

Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing our Terms). This includes removing your teammate connections, Activity Feed posts, username reservation, and team membership.

8. Your Rights and Choices

As a user of the App, you have the following rights:

Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You may update your display name, profile photo, and username directly within the App.

Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.

Teammate Connections: You may remove any teammate connection at any time. Removing a teammate stops the sharing of Activity Feed data between you and that user.

Team Membership: You may leave your team at any time through your Profile settings. This removes the team badge from your profile and future feed posts.

HealthKit Consent: You may withdraw consent for HealthKit data access at any time through your device Settings.

Notifications: You may opt out of non-essential push notifications through the App's settings or your device Settings.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at leadership@compete-track-win.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise your California privacy rights, contact us at leadership@compete-track-win.com.

OTHER STATE PRIVACY LAWS: Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including but not limited to Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states that have enacted consumer privacy legislation) may have additional rights. We do not discriminate against users for exercising their privacy rights.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 18, we will take prompt steps to delete that information. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at leadership@compete-track-win.com.
